    Subpar assembly

Bike is rather cheap and the people at the store didn't build it well at all. Within 2 days the handlebars were lose and it never shifted to the top gear.

brakes break a lot, the chain also comes off lots

i bought this like a year ago and its been quite bad, has horrible suspension and can barely move on rocks or dirt or grass so at this point i dont even know why it’s considered a mountain bike. top speed on it really isnt that fast and sometimes the bike will randomly just become really hard to petal for absolutely no reason. i was riding it one time and out of nowhere it just became really hard to petal, chain loves to come off a lot especially when you are riding it, seat also loves to become really loose quite a lot and the back breaks just absolutely adore breaking every week. wouldn’t recommend.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Questions

    1 - 10 of 20 Questions

Q: Can i put thos little 2 stroke engines in it? they have 49cc engines on ebay, is this bike big enough for that?

    4 Answers
    • A: I would not recommend putting those engines on any bike. I have one on my bike and it has destroyed the bike. I have been replacing the rear tire tube at least once a week, spokes are now bent from the torque, warping the wheel, and vibration has actually caused the frame to crack where the engine mounts to the frame. The engine itself is a nightmare to keep running - bolts shear off, the threads flatten, things come loose. The head warped - had to plane it, the seals dissolve when exposed to gas, and the carb is next to impossible to tune properly. I'm replacing my bike with this model and I'm not putting the engine on it. On top of that the cops will harrass you if they see you riding it. If you want something powered - get a motorcycle licence and a cheap motorcycle. It'll probably cost you less in the long run.

Q: Just wondering if anyone knows the part number for the free wheel assembly for the rear wheel of the bike?

    • A: I habe the owner manual & it doesn’t have part ID numbers.  It says to ask a technician if you need specific parts.

Q: Does anyone have a review on how this bike performs on a person over 6 feet.

    • A: The 071-1061 - Supercycle Phantom has an 18" frame. There is another hardtail mountain bike in the lineup called the 071-1976 - Raleigh Trailblazer XL that has a 21" frame if the Phantom is too small for you. However, keep in mind that frame size and rider height are only two factors when fitting a bike, it's recommended to see a sports department manager at a Canadian Tire store to find a bike that best suits your needs.

    • A: Yes to all. You should ALWAYS check and tighten any bolts before using a new bike. Otherwise I just used as was picked up.

    2 Answers
    • A: I am 190LB and I ride it for 20 minutes a day, but I had to replace the pedals as they broke off under my weight, and the rear tire has become warped. You probably want to get a stronger bike.
