Believe the bad reviews.

The plastic threading on the hose attachment piece within this unit is just....off. Tried three different hoses (two of which were brand new) and water spewed from that spot every time. Even tried plumber's tape. Useless.
The only good thing about this hose hideaway is that is looks good. Otherwise, save your money and your sanity.

Don't bother

We diligently followed instructions, yet the plastic parts still can't handle any type of water pressure, the connectors pop off or leak 100% of the time, doesn't matter if you're gentle with the threading or if you really wrench them together, nothing works as it should. Literally can't use it and threw out the receipt so can't even return it... BUYER BEWARE!

Looks ok, but cheap

I bought this while looking at all the host reel options. This looked nice. Couldn't check reviews prior to buying because my cdn tire has no signal to get internet while in the store . Wish I had researched first. Anyway, mine doesn't leak yet but my goodness is this thing is cheap, like $30 cheap. It says it can have a 175 foot hose. It struggled to wind my 75 foot empty hose. The rail it rides on kept popping out of its socket. Will be returning. Not recommended.

Constant Leak and then Connection Snapped Off

I bought this a year ago and it constantly drip leaked from the connection inside the hideaway, which is a huge pain to try and access. I went back to try and tighten it to stop the leaks once and for all and the plastic connection simply snapped off when any force was applied. This thing is about 98% plastic, so be very aware of the weak construction and connections that come with that.

Extremely Poor Quality

I bought this 3 weeks ago and found it leaking in my garage. Figured I bought a junk one so went to store and replaced it with another one. Again, second unit leaking all over. Highly poor quality and workmanship. My guess is Suncast will respond with the same answer they've given every one else on this thread....a useless comment.
