small discharge hose

Pump is fine but the included discharge is only 3/4 inch diameter (same as a full diameter garden hose). Also the check valve is only 3/4 inch so even if you cut the adapter for a 1 1/4 hose you're still massively restricted in water flow. I bought a 1.5" screw in adapter and discharge and flow is sufficient.

Best pool pump ever

I have purchased many submersible pumps to remove the water from my pool cover in the summer. This is the BEST pumps I have come across. Drains water at an amazing rate and never clogs. At little work horse of a pump. You will not be sorry if you purchase this for your pool opening and closings. Simply the best pump for the money. I having been using for about 3 years and has never failed yet.

Q: Can this pump be used to drain a salt water pool or will it be damaged by using it for that application?

A: This item is currently Fully Discontinued but could do a salt water swimming pool. However, it’s not intended for ocean salt water. We would recommend using SKU 0623410 for a more up to date version of this pump.

Q: What is the diameter of the bottom of the pump? Trying to fit it inside of my square water tote and the top cap opening is 5 - 1/2". thanks

A: The Pump bottom is 6” in diameter without the elbow fitting for the hose With the elbow fitting for the hose it is 8.5” in diameter

Q: The pump was clogged with algae while I was away and stopped working (breaker in fuse box popped out); I cleaned pond and pump but pump doesn't start - does it have its own 'fuse'? How do I obtain a manual?

Q: MasterCraft Submersible Pool Pump, 1/2 HP. The manual says that you need to place the pump on a hard surface. Can you place it on a pool cover (which has water beneath it) to pump water from your pool cover?

A: While you can put this on the top of the pool cover, it is meant to be fully submerged and is probably too large of a pump for pool cover water removal.

Q: Do I understand correctly that this pump is designed to be completely submerged **including the electrical cord** and operate while submerged? Electricity and water don’t usually mix!

A: Yes, this is how the pump is designed to be used. The pump motor and electrical connections are sealed and waterproof.

A: This pump is not designed for continuous use but our testing shows that it will work well continuously. Power consumption: 5.5a = 660 watts

Q: Can the pump run dry or will it cause damage? ie: Pump drains all the water but no one is there to stop it for 10 mins.

A: The pump is designed to only run when water is running through it, running it dry for any length of time will damage the pump and void the warranty.
