Gear failure after 4 months/12 uses

My initial impressions of the jack were positive. It seemed sturdy, lifted well, and rolled easily.
However, the gears that mesh between the handle and the pump recently came out of sync, leaving me unable to lower the jack or my car. I had to use a second jack in order to get this one out. Upon closer inspection, there is a bit of play between the gears, and that allowed them to unsync. The poor quality of these parts ruined an otherwise good jack.
I returned this jack for a motormaster 1.5 ton lowprofile model, which seems more sturdy and is smoother to use.
No, I do not recommend this product.
