Q: Is the inside coated with BPA or something similar or is it just uncoated stainless steel?

A: The inside is uncoated stainless steel and after a few months of use we started finding rust spots on the inside of the lid. We normally like our Paderno kitchen ware so hopefully this was just a one time glitch

A: I have not put it in the dishwasher I always handwash and dry. You could put it in but I suspect if you do at some point a glass, a plate or something will eventually chip the coating.

Q: Can anyone tell me if the black colour of this kettle helps hide grease splash stains? My wife likes to keep her kettle on the stovetop and I cook a lot. It doesn’t take long for oil splatter from cooking to harden onto the side of our current kettle.

A: No. The oil splashing during cooking is visible on the kettle, you can keep the kettle away the oil.
