Baking dish broke in the oven

Honestly, I had very high expectations because I love my Staub pot. I got about 10 uses out of the largest baking dish before it literally broke in half inside my oven while grilling tilapia at 400F. Mind you, there was no crack prior and I had been very careful using it. I no longer use the other two because I am scared they'll also break. It would be great if Zwilling does not reduce the quality of their products just to keep people replacing them often.

We understand how disappointing and concerning this must have been, especially as you had high expectations for the product and had been enjoying your STAUB cookware. Based on your description, the breakage appears consistent with thermal shock. Thermal shock occurs when ceramic material experiences a sudden or uneven temperature change, causing stress within the material that can result in cracking or, in some cases, the item breaking. Ceramic products are particularly susceptible to this because they are less flexible than materials such as metal and cannot absorb sudden temperature variations in the same way. Thermal shock can occur for a variety of reasons, including differences in temperature across the dish, contact with cooler surfaces, residual moisture, or other environmental factors that may not always be visible to the user. In many cases, there may be no visible crack or damage beforehand. We would also like to assure you that STAUB products continue to be manufactured using premium materials and craftsmanship. Our goal is, and always has been, to produce cookware that our customers can enjoy for many years. We do not reduce the quality of our products to encourage replacement purchases, and we take product quality very seriously. We appreciate your feedback and understand why this experience has affected your confidence in using the remaining dishes. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

Beautiful, deep baking dish

First of all, I love the depth of this ceramic dish. We had no problem making a multilayered casserole in it with plenty of space at the top, no worries about accidentally getting your oven mitt dirty. Cleanup was a breeze, we didn't even need to bother with the dishwasher. I love the vibrant red color too. I've only used the largest of the 3 so far, but my daughter and I were both impressed.
