Very Handy

This tape is great if you do a lot of work by yourself, especially like framing decks, sheds, garages etc. The standout really comes in handy for this.
The only drawback I would say of this tape is if you are looking for something for finer detail work, because of the long standout the tape itself is quite large and can be a bit difficult to use for finer measurements.

The only one i buy

I burn through tape measures like crazy. They take a beating in my work. I used to buy cheap ones, but the Stanely FatMax Xtreme offers great features, and the durability more than pays for the higher price.
The great stand-out and awesome over-sized tip makes taking measurements alone easier. The bright color is easy to read, even in darker situations.
It can take a hit much better than those cheap ones. I always keep at least 3 on hand!

I have a half dozen different tapes and this is the best of the bunch. It is tough, you can tell that just by picking it up. I really like that I can have it standing out well beyond 10 feet without worrying it'll buckle. Few on the market have this feature. The end hook is oversized so it's easy to attach it to something as a pivot point. The bright yellow finish makes it easy to read in low-light situations.
