Stanley FatMax® Stud Sensor 300

I was as perplexed as everyone else about the instructions (too tiny to make any sense!) but once I found them on the Net, I had a derrr ... moment! Have to recalibrate after each find of joist.... Once I got the hang of this (recalibrating away from found joist) it became easy and accurate! My squeaky floors are silenced!

I bought it with a hope of assisting me with a renovation job, absolutely useless tool as it is almost impossible to gain anything from the instructions. I put it away and got it out today to try again...... waist of time, not even a detailed instructtion on the web. This would defiantly make me reconsider a purchase of any other Stanley tools

I fell for it. Against my better judgement and poor reviews online, I bought this junk in the hopes it would tell me EXACTLY where the studs are. Nope. I have pictures of a wall before the sheeting went up. I know with a high degree of accuracy where the studs should be. Knocking on the wall gives if a better idea. But this thing?!?!? Not a chance. DO NOT BUY! I've read the instructions (also bad, but downloading a different set explained the unit a little better), but this thing is useless. I feel sick that I've given my money over to something I already suspected to be junk. I will never buy another Stanley product again... you should be ashamed of yourselves.

This stud finder is useless, do not buy. Amazing it is still sold, probably the worst tool I have ever bought. Garbage, it just dosen't work, false readings all the time.

I have bought thousands of products in my life and had every degree of happiness and disappointment with those products, but NEVER have I felt compelled to review any of those products... until now. This is an absolutely disappointing piece of garbage that has caused me so much frustration, I can't even put it into words. I had a simple old stud finder that worked well, that was borrowed by a family member and I thought I'd be nice and let them keep it and get myself a new improved fancy model... WHAT A MISTAKE!!! I am very well versed in how to use stud finders, but I even went to check the official Stanley video on how to use this model when I had some trouble and I had been doing it correctly the whole time... it just turns out it is an inaccurate hunk of junk. It gives false readings galore, picks up electrical in walls I have had open and know for a fact have no electrical in them. It will find a stud and then if you check again, can't find that same stud. As I said, I have never written a review before, but this THING has driven me to it. I have, and am very happy with, many other Stanley products but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, for your own sanity, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!
