Do not purchase this pop riveter. The jaws grip the pop rivet mandrel like a pit bull and will not let go. I took my pop riveter out from storage in preparation for use. It was all wrapped up and in pristine condition. I placed a 1/8″ pop rivet mandrel in the nose cone just to check the fit — after swapping cones — and it would not give it up. It should have just dropped out as I had not squeezed the handles to grip the mandrel. I tried all sorts of pliers to pull the pop rivet out to no avail. This experience matches that of other reviewers and, like them, I relegated my “STANLEY® Heavy Duty Contractor Grade Riveter” to the rubbish bin. What an absolute waste of materials. Needless to say I went to my local hardware store and bought a different brand. I hope that if you are reading this that you are just contemplating buying this tool and have not already done so.

You would expect a so called contractor grade pop rivet gun to last well past its warranty time. Not this piece of garbage. Very little work done and yet it now doesn’t work at all. Do yourselves a favour and find another product.

The Best Hand Riviter that I have used.

A Hand Pop Rivet Tool is not something I use every day of the week. Used to when I was younger, but when you need a job done well and fast its the way to go. I usually use Stainless Steel heavy duty rivits and the tool has to be strong to handle them. This Stanley does the job. I have had many other hand riveters and pnumatic ones. but this is quick portable and if Im only doing a simple job like patching the side of a Chevy Van with 100 rivets this will do it.

Very poor quality hand rivet gun.

Unsuitable for anything other than small aluminium rivets. Anything heavier will jam the assembly and require dismantling to clear. You then end up with a handful of small parts and there isn’t even an online assembly diagram to show how everything needs to go back into the gun tube. I will never buy another Stanley product.

On the 3rd rivet it jammed and I had to disassemble the tool while still attached to the car!! Upon examination I found that the internals were damaged. VERY disappointed!!!! It is now trash!!!!
