Best Bang for the Buck

Comes pre assembled in box. Lock is smooth and quiet. Foam on lower shelf is a nice feature and can easily fit 2 full size pistols. Top shelf more than adequate for ammo storage or for other valuables. Solidly built.

Q: dimensions what are the safe's outer dimensions?

A: The term "safe" is subjective. Units that are marketed as "safes" are so because they meet the California Penal Code definition of a firearms safe. Canadian law makes not such distinction and legal dictionaries define a “safe” as simply a metal container for locking up valuables. In fact there was a case in Ontario where the crown tried to push unsafe storage charges for a guy who had his guns (in this case, full automatics that he legally owned) stored in an old school locker. The judge ruled that if parliament had intended for a stricter definition of what constitutes a “safe”, they would have included it in the list of definitions in the firearms act. Since they didn’t, the regular definition applies. So, is it a “safe” in marketing terms? No. Is it a safe in legal terms? Yes. Having said that, I always keep the trigger locks on the pistols anyway. I need them for transport and there’s no point in taking them off before putting them away just to have to put them back on.
