Q: Would this product be good to clean dirty soffit or would it remove the paint?

A: Xylene is a thinning agent as well as a cleaning agent. Therefore it is very likely that it could thin the material of your soffits as well as peel the Paint.

Q: Would this be safe to use on most automotive clear coat/ paint without damaging finish? Need a solvent to remove residue on automotive paint that will not harm paint.

A: You can use xylene if you know what you are doing. Experienced body workshops will use xylene. Xylene will take off glue and such if used properly. However if too much xylene is used or it stays in contact too long or left on the car paint, it will remover the finish. We would suggest a milder alcohol such as ethyl alcohol which would be more forgiving.
