Q: Are these smoked plates covers legal in ontario? i recently bought two of them and got to thinking about if i could get fined.
14 years agoA: Covering the plates are illegal in ON. Tinted plates, with a little dirt I suspect would make it next to impossible to read if one observed a hit and run. Seems a clear plate on the front has some value protecting against stone chips, or bugs, on the rear? Like heavily tinted windows, protects one's identity of misdeeds. Seems CA Tire might want to review selling the shades?

2 years agoA: The smoke shields are sold individually. There is a 2-pack available in clear acrylic. Be advised, the shields in the 2-pack are not guaranteed unbreakable like the clear and smoke polycarbonate ones are.

Q: I bought this product a year ago. I have lost the allen keys to take off my license plate cover. If I buy a new set of plate covers, will the allen keys also work to remove the old plates if they are the same brand?
5 years agoA: As long as you purchase another cover/frame combo that includes hardware it will include the key. Another option would be to purchase just the hardware. SKU 372386 (Standard) or 372387 (Metric) are screws from AutoTrends with the standard allen key. SKU 372380 by Cruiser Accessories is the Ultimate Hardware Kit and includes the special star pin key.
