I bought this last week and Canadian Tire is asking for a review. Here it is: the tote fits where I needed it to. It is the size I required. I can't begin to rate its durability which is the number one issue with such products but I can say that, one week in it is still not decomposing, so .... Yay??

I bought this to organize some household tools. The quality is excellent for the price, and I like the snap-on lid. Keeps everything tidy, I can see what’s inside, and it seems sturdy enough to last a long time.

Good but they still crack

I thought these were the best, and they are good because the plastic is thick, the lid latches, it seems high quality. But I've had one of them crack now. I was assuming they were similar to PET (pop bottles) which don't crack, but I guess that would be too flexible. It's a tradeoff I suppose but still, there's probably a better material. Also yes, why not just make the lid a better seal. It would be easy to design one: it works in a similar way to food containers but needs to be easy to remove. It's doable but product designers in general are NOT good at their job, at all. (Products are always a random collection of ideas with at least one glaring problem, in general, which they MAY notice but they think it conflicts with another, so it's not solvable. But in reality it is; they just haven't thought about it long enough. But this is digression!)

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Will this bin hold a duotang, or size of paper?

  • A: Thank you for your question. The inside dimensions of the Sterilite 5L ClearView Latch Box are 29.5cm L x 15.6cm W x 11.7cm H. If the notebook or paper is of standard size (11" L x 8.5" W or 27.9cm L x 21.6cm W) then it will not fit.
