Skil 10" Drill Press

Great bench top drill press. The only knock is that it is hard to adjust the belt tension. Seems you have to use a pry bar between the motor and the riser stand, then tighten down the retaining nut.

Poorly made - Skil does not stand by product

There is a significant wobble at the end of the drill bit. Skil has confirmed that it is due to a faulty chuck but will not replace it. Customer service is very slow to respond. Because of this experience, I will not purchase Skil brand in the future.

Laser is trash. Handle broke off during a move just from tipping over and one of the pulleys only has 4 spots for the belt instead of 5, so mine is an 8 speed instead of 10

It is as advertised. for light to medium jobs. the table height crank could operate a little smoother. I greased it lightly with Lithium grease. I am tempted to take the depth adjustment mechanism apart to see if I can get it to move smoother. Never the less, I am happy with the purchase.

probably the stores fault. purchased the shelf display ,as the last one. Missing depth tension knob ,but found a suitable thumbscrew. plugged in and got a hum. Noticed a cut red wire on the motor so stripped back and used a wire nut to connect. Still just hums,store assembly fault? or something amiss. Will try to get in touch with skil, meanwhile it's time for the project and n drill press.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: It is 28 inches high and you probably need another foot to flip open the cover and work the belts on the different pullies to change the speed.

A: The Chuck accommodates bits from 1.6 mm-13mm or 1/16” – 1/2”

Q: What is the quill diameter on this drill press? I'd like to be able to add a mortising attachment to any drill press I buy, and these systems will only attach to quills of certain diameters

A: The quill size is 1.57”. Most mortising attachments come with several collars to fit almost any drill press. Mortising attachments will fit the Skil 3320 Drill Press but the combination will result in very limited capacity. The quill has to be lowered out of the drill press and the shim put above the step at the bottom. The real problem is the travel is only going to be about ¾". Because of the size of the drill press you will not be able to apply enough pressure to do large mortises in hard wood. Even soft wood will be questionable.
