Q: What is this Simoniz Platinum Chamois made of? Is it real tanned sheep skin like the previous versions CT used to sell or is it made of some type of simulated material as all it says on the package is 'Natural Chamois'?

A: As this item is now discontinued, I encourage you to look at 039-6520 and 039-6525 (Simoniz Platinum 3sqft and 5sq ft Chamois). Both of these chamois are made from genuine chamois leather/real tanned sheep skin.

A: Hand wash your chamois with mild soap and water. Do not wash in the washing machine. Though stains may remain in the chamois, it does not affect the performance. The following care and use instructions are on the packaging: Wash your chamois with mild soap and water, leaving a little soap in the chamois. Wring out and gently pull to its original shape. Hang to dry away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not store chamois wet. Chamois stiffens when dry, but will soften immediately when re-wet. To soften chamois without re-wetting, rub the chamois against itself or grip by opposite ends and gently pull it back and forth over the edge of a table until desired softness is attained. Do not use with strong chemicals or to wipe grease and oil.
