Questions
Q: Can it use brake rotors, electric cables, mufflers, bushes, etc.?
4 months agoA: Thanks for your inquiry, Srqkhm. It is absolutely not recommended for any reason to use the Simoniz Platinum Car Undercarriage Protection Spray on brake rotors or any other brake parts! It is actually hazardous to do so since the silicone in the formula will make the rotors slippery and so the brakes won’t work. It is likewise not recommended for use on exhaust manifolds. Those it will not harm, but it will probably burn off (the auto ignition temperature for silicone fluid is 438-460°C and manifolds typically reach temperatures in the 427 – 649°C range. Mufflers and piping will be a bit cooler of course and the spray should be safe to use on those.
