Great for keyboards!

I picked this up for 1 reason only: to clean my ancient keyboard. It made sense to wipe it down first with a damp cloth, so that the gel would not fill up with debris right away. It took about 5 minutes total, and the old beast looks almost brand new! Note: It is prudent to turn the keyboard off before beginning. Now I'm thinking I will use this for my vehicle interior as well. I could see where the gel would fill up with debris quickly, which would decrease its' lifespan, so again my plan is clean as much up first with the damp cloth. PS: It looks and feels like something out of an alien movie when you are working with it!

I purchased this detailing putty today and I am very pleased with it.
It has a pleasant smell, and it is very effective at picking up dust and crumbs from all surfaces but especially useful at cleaning up around switches on window and door locks and all around the dash and console.
I cleaned up my F150 in just a few minutes and it did not leaves any staining or residue.
I would recommend users first quickly wipe surfaces down with a damp cloth p. This will remove the bulk of the bits and prevent your putty ball from getting too dirty too soon.
The putty ball is not washable, so mine picked up a lot of bits and made it a bit dirty. Still works great but next time I won’t try to pick up all the stuff that blows in. I expect to get around 6 good cleanings out of it.
They’re not that expensive, you pay much more for a car wash.

A: Thanks for your inquiry, Frankie. While it likely will clean the charging port, we generally would not recommend as there is the potential that a piece of the gel could break off in the long, thin space. You would be better served by using compressed air to clear out the dust and debris, then clean the resulting mess.

Q: Can you clean the gel to reuse it multiple times? How do you clean it?

A: Thanks for the inquiry, Kevin. The Simoniz Dust Magnet is designed to be multi-use/reusable until it's fully dirty. You can roll it over until there is no more clean surface area. I would not recommend trying to clean it with water or any other liquid as it can jeopardize the characteristics of the product and may actually even dissolve the gel. Happy Cleaning!
