    Budget bag worth the money

I intended on purchasing a "name brand" bag for my motorcycle from a specialty store but saw this at Canadian Tire and thought it would be worth a shot. I bought it on sale. The box was very sparse and did not contain any details. The most important thing to note is the way the bag mounts to your bike. There are two bungee cords with metal hooks on the ends in an 'X' shape across the bottom so you will need a total of 4 mounting points on your bike. I have two hooks near my license plate and I placed the other ends around two semi-exposed bolts on the passenger grab handles. It doesn't sound ideal but the setup works well. There is also a large Velcro strap that goes underneath the rear of the bike. It alone won't hold the bag, however. The bag has a few compartments. The main one has two zippers and a Velcro strap. Dimensions aren't listed but it can hold around 9 x 710 mL water bottles so I'd guess its total capacity is between 10 and 12 litres. There are small pockets on each inside wall. There are two more zippered compartments on either side of the bag. They are skinny and good for smaller items like gloves. A nice touch is the reflective tape on the sides and a reflective strip on the rear of the bag. I would personally add some reflective tape to the rear to make yourself more visible to motorists in the dark. All-in-all it's a very good bag. I'm taking one star off because the materials are, in general, cheap and I really wish the zippers were beefier. Although you can fit quite a lot of stuff I would not want to overload the bag with heavy items. If it's heavy and you pick it up by the handle the Velcro will come undone and the zippers will unzip because of the weight. I've been caught in the rain with this and the bag did a good job of keeping my things mostly dry. For reference I ride a 2011 Kawasaki Ninja 650. If you search for it you will see the passenger handles and bolts which I referred to.

    Yes, I recommend this product.
