Bought this as my first rod, to get into the sport this summer. Have been very pleased with it. The build is solid and the reel is silent. Would buy again.

i've been fishing for 30 years, and never owned a rod/reel over $60. castability is more than satisfactory, and has excellent drag. just ask the very healthy chinooks, brown trout and steelhead i've brought in with ease with this set. cudos to shimano for an afordable and highly functional rod/reel

Q: Does the line/string come on it. New to fishing don't know proper talk. Title says it all. Does the line come with it. If not can I ask an employee to do for me?

1 Answer
  • A: This combo does not come with line on it. We would suggest speaking to the Sports Department Manager who can have one of his team show you how to put the line on.
