Sharpie is the way to go! I have one of these on me at all times as a nurse. The fine tip makes it easy to label things and the cap never comes off on accident.

Portable and great for on the go emergencies

I freaking love sharpie minis! I'm a respiratory therapist and I have one attached to my badge and keys at all times because you never know when you need to jot something down real quick! They're so light that I can attach 2 sharpie minis on my badge without it dragging down. Each mini lasts about 3 to 4 months. The ink is fantastic! Always a re-purchase for me and my co-workers!

I’m a fan of sharpies, I use them for school , work and just in my daily life . My writing is way better when I use my sharpies . They do last forever though.
