Switch Problem

Although the machine worked well for 2.5 years, the switch then quit working. It would turn the machine on but would not change to level II cleaning (carpets). This part is not covered by the 5 year warranty.

Bought this on oct 11 morning, works up to mark.Better than my previous vacuum. It has 5 years warranty on it. I will update if it creates any issues.

Great Vacuum, but it has it's flaws.

I bought this vacuum three years ago and it has worked very well. The problem is that when I bought mine it did not come with the 24" Crevice tool, the extension reach kit or the accessory bag plus they don't tell you that you can get a backsaver kit which goes under tables and chairs. I went to Sharks web site and bought an extra 10' extended reach stretch hose so that my vacuum won't fall over when doing chairs and the couch and just waiting to get the 24" crevice tool that hooks up to the backsaver and they gave me the bag to put all this stuff in. I should of checked the web site first before buying so that I got everything. Will add the extended reach kit as well.

That's the best review I can give because nothing is worse than a product that doesn't live up to its description. I actually JUST bought it after reading everyone else's positive reviews because the sale was about to end.
If I have any trouble in it in the near future, will update my review.

Amazing!

This is by far the best vacuum I have ever owned! I was skeptical at first because it sounded too good to be true but once I used it and saw the amount of dirt and cat fur it picked up, I was amazed! And with such a good warranty, why not? Worth every penny!

A: The Lift-Away can be detached so it makes it easier to use on stairs, the Deluxe Pet doesn't do that. The Lift-Away is the newer vacuum and it looks a lot lighter than the Deluxe. I like the idea of separating the vacuum so that you can clean hard to reach places. If the Lift-Away was available when I was buying the Deluxe I would of bought the Lift-Away instead.

Q: Is there or should there be a filter in the top part of the dust canister?

A: There is a filter in the top. You just have to open it and take it out and just shake out the dust. The filters in the bottom can be hand washed and left to dry completely before putting back, so no need to buy more. I spoke to a shark service rep from the web site and that is what he told me, saved me some money.

A: This filter is actually intended to be a “permanent” filter. It is washable by simply rinsing with warm water, then squeezing out the excess water. It is important to let the filter air dry completely prior to re-installing in the vacuum. This should be done roughly every 2 months. If at some point, a replacement filter is needed, it can be ordered from Shark at www.sharkclean.com or 1-800-798-7398 and referencing model # NV36C.

Q: Can it be used for Hardwood floor cleaning? I was looking at Shark deluxe pet cleaning vacuum. Can it be used on hardwood floors too? Is there any adjustment that can be made to use it for bare floors?

A: Absolutely, all Shark upright vacuums have an on/off button for the brush roll located in the power head. It should be shut off for use on hardwood floors and "on" for carpet cleaning.

Q: Hardwood Floors Can this be used on hardwood floors without it scratching? I have no carpet in my place (just installed new hardwood flooring) and would like to buy a vacuum that is hardwood friendly.
