Have gone through 2...stop working after a year.

My second one just stopped working. Won't turn on. I love them in the beginning. Use distilled water. They stop working within a year. Won't buy another one.

J'ai acheté ce produit pour son côté "écolo" et je ne suis pas étonnée par ses prouesses. L'idée est bonne, mais les résultats sont décevants.
Pas réussi à laver facilement la douche (résidus de savon)
Pas réussi à bien laver la robinetterie (calcaire)
Pas de résultat extraordinaire sur le plancher
Aucune différence sur les rideaux (toujours un peu froissé)
Il n'y a aucune commande facile d'accès pour mettre en marche ou arrêter la vadrouille, quand on lave le plancher. Il faut se pencher pour appuyer sur les boutons jusqu'à ce que ça clignote. Ça aurait pris un bouton sur la poignée, pour être plus ergonomique.
Elle est quand même encombrante (avec le fil à tenir et à déplacer).
Sur mon plancher flottant, je dois le régler au maximum pour que ça fasse semblant de laver (le plancher reste terne et avec des traces de pieds même après 6 passages de vadrouille, plus ou moins lentement).
Quand j'ai besoin de l'arrêter un instant, je ne peux pas la laisser sur mon plancher parce que ça continue de faire de la vapeur pendant un moment, donc je dois courir la déposer sur mon coin céramique.
L'appareil à main est coussi-coussa ; ça aurait pris une sangle et une façon de bloquer le mécanisme en marche pour qu'il soit réellement pratique.
On se retrouve obligé de toujours tenir l'appareil en appuyant sur le bouton d'une main.
Si on utilise un outil avec le boyau d'extension, nos deux mains sont prises.
De plus, il aurait fallu une buse précise avec un boyau d’extension. La seule buse précise offerte est attachée directement à la machine donc les endroits restreints sont inaccessible et il faut souvent mettre l'appareil la tête en bas ce qui cause un arrêt de vapeur parce que la "paille" ne baigne plus dans l'eau.
J'utilise le boyau d’extension sans accessoire quand j'ai besoin de vapeur dans un endroit restreint, mais elle n'est plus autant sous pression donc encore moins efficace.
Songez-y 2 fois avant d'acheter une vadrouille à vapeur...

I love this steam machine. I used it on my hardwood floors and on my cork floors as well as on ceramic and my floors are beautifully and environmentally clean. No more poisonous chemicals for me. I love that this steam cleaner mop also has the ability to be a hand held steam cleaner. Two in one. I love all the attachments as well so I can clean anything and everything. In the long run it will pay for itself as no more harsh chemicals to buy as it uses only water.

Well, I've used the handheld Portable Steam Pocket Cleaner and the smaller Shark Steam Mop, and both are better than this underpowered one. Yes it looks nicer, and the idea of having all-in-one appealed to me, and I like that in mop mode you can just turn it on for steam (unlike the smaller Steam Mop, which you must continually press to get the steam going).
But it just doesn't have the steam power of the others, even on the highest setting; the other two settings are useless.
Once the house is fully cleaned, this will be great for keeping it that way, but boy is it slow compared to the other ones for removing built-up dirt...

Steam doesn't point down...comes out top of mop!

I have had two different steam mops before (not Shark). I purchased the Shark because I thought the pocket system looked useful.
I noticed lots of steam coming out the top of the mop head and wondered how much was coming out the bottom.
If you keep the mop head parallel to the floor and lift the mop above the ground, you will see that NO or VERY LITTLE steam is pointing down.
If you take the mop off and run the steam, again with the mop head parallel to the floor, you will see the steam just floats up.
A closer look at the steam mop head revealed why - the steam isn't pointed up or down - just forward, so the steam naturally rises upwards before ever hitting the ground.
Not so brilliant design. So I wonder how everyone else is giving this a 4 or 5 stars?
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: I saw them in the store. But don't bother - the steam just rises from the mop head and never hits the ground. Save your money.

A: sku 43-6675, the Shark Lift-Away Professional Steam Pocket Mop does NOT require any cleaning solutions for use. Simply fill with water (we do recommend distilled water - particularly in areas of hard water) and turn on. No chemicals required to both clean and sanitize (99.9% sanitization) your floors and above-floor surfaces. The empty weight of this mop is approx. 8 lbs.

A: No, it is not recommended to use anything but water with this mop. Distilled water is recommended. If you require some other cleaning agent for your floors, please consider a Shark Steam and Spray mop (Canadian Tire sku 43-6139 or 43-6884). These 2 mops allow you to spray a steam-activated cleaning solution prior to steam cleaning for optimal cleaning results. The mop can also be used in "steam only" mode for routine cleaning as well as "spray only" mode for quick clean ups. The cleaning solution is non-toxic, biodegradable and safe for use around children and pets.

Q: i bought this item but it makes my hardwood looks cloudy do you have solution for this problem?

A: The initial use of the steam mop may cause streaking or clouding due to the residue from chemicals and polish previously used on your floors. Regular use of the steam mop will diminish this effect. For stubborn cases, you may need to rinse the floor with a mixture of one part vinegar and two parts water. Remember, a clean mop pad is essential for residue removal.

A: Yes, one of the features of this steam mop is that it will function as a garment steamer when used in the "lift-away" mode. Neither this mop, nor the H2O mop is actually an iron as neither have a heated soleplate, but they will perform the same function for garment steaming.
