Hose too stiff in cold temperature

My old "jiggle hose" needed to be replaced so I bought this one. At a mildly cold temp (-5c) its very stiff, much stiffer than previous hoses I have had. I doubt it will be usable at -15 or colder.

I have tried a number of siphon products and this is the only one that worked for me. It is simple and works well. The one shortcoming I noticed is that it is not effective once the depth of fluid gets down to a centimetre or less - so you’ll never get quite all of the fluid out.

Q: I have read the instructions re Shaker Siphon Hose (28-3109-2). Given those instructions, how can I use this device to siphon gas from a car?

A: I would not recommend this product to siphon the gas out of a car tank as the shaker may get caught in the fuel pipe. I would use a pump and hose to do it, something like product #28-3009-0.

Q: Can it be used with chemicals such as bleach, or weaker acids?

A: Another good question Steve, Due to the dangers of working with some chemicals we do not specifically recommend this product for those applications.

Q: does this work well on a half full gas can? I imagine this works great when siphoning from a full gas can (only need to pull up a few inches to start the flow) but how well does it work if trying to pull up 8-10 inches of suction from a half full gas can?

A: In both scenarios, the siphon hose works well, there is no difference between a tank half full versus inches.
