I installed this door into a window screen last spring for my cat to come and go from a “catio” attached to the outside of our house. Took me all of a minute or two to install it, following instructions, and my cat took to it in 30 seconds. Almost a year has passed and it is still as good as day I installed it!

Plastic snaps that don't hold well

This is a two sectioned plastic frame that snaps together through the screen. Then you cut the screen to make the flap. That's fine, but the plastic snaps don't really hold well -- possibly because I paired it with pet resistant screen? But there's nothing special about the snaps so I doubt that. I had to use rivets to actually hold the frame together -- small bolts would work as well.
For the time it takes to do that I'd suggest wooden slats would do the same job and be less of a problem to install. This could have come with that ready for installation -- don't know why it wouldn't have.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Love it!!-need another

We installed this a few yrs ago on our main deck and our Yorkie learned very quickly how to use it. Looking to get another for the other deck that she likes to sit out in the sun on...even guest dogs catch on quickly enough that they can go in and out whenever they want. Super easy to install, and was easy enough to remove and put on again when we upgraded our doors.
Yes, I recommend this product.

A: It comes with a clip to latch in in place if you wish, so it's locked for pets or other animals unless you want it usable.

Q: Similar question asked a couple of times no satisfactory reply. ?? : What size dog can use this door? Pup still growing, presently 14 in to shoulder (max at 18) and current weight at 28 lbs. Could be as much as 43 full grown.

A: This screen is 12 inches by 16 inches so it all depends on the height and width of your dog.

Q: Do these door come with magnets or anything to keep bugs out? Locks, or anything like that? Many pet doors come with locks on the bottom and sides to make sure the pet door does not take time swinging closed. They close immediately.
