Hunk of junk!

The worst product I've ever purchased from Canadian Tire to date. The installation system with an undersized base plate and weird plastic dome covers feels loose and flimsy no matter how tight the top nut is screwed down, the movement of the antenna is very stiff, it's possible to push the top of the antenna down too far to be retrieved without a pair of needlenose pliers, AND the connector for the antenna itself split apart into pieces after being tugged through with a very modest amount of pressure. It was cheap, but this was -stunningly- poorly made, even at the price. Absolutely would not recommend!

Works great, maybe better than a power antenna!

Takes a bit of working to get it to fit in the fender, but it's well built and the retracting is perfect for a clean look. The giant knob at the base is a bit gaudy but it just makes it stronger. Agenda cable is nice and long.

Q: length What is the total length (housing) when it is retracted.. Will it fit a 1962 Corvair ?

A: Retracted length is 10". I don't see why it wouldn't fit the Corvair, all you need is a 7/8" hole.
