EXPENSIVE AT HALF THE PRICE IF FLEXI-SPOUT MATTERS

This gas can would be expensive at half the price if the flexible spout matters to you -- which it should.
A flexible spout is designed to be bent in a gentle arc, before the pour, to reduce spillage.
Older identical copies of this gas can do have a flexible pleated spout.
These older spouts can be shaped to meet the tank filler for an easy pour.
Recent copies (2026) of the pleated spout look identical to older copies, but the sidewalls are much thicker; consequently these new spouts kink long before they bend.
Because of this, the advantages promised by the pleats in the spout simply do not exist.
Thus this gas can and spout assembly is much less useful than its designers intended it to be.

Hello Cyrus - In 2009, the regulations for portable fuel containers changed. All fuel cans sold in the USA must now meet EPA regulations, contain child resistant closures and by law a flame mitigation device. While all these features have allowed for a safer, more environmentally friendly product, they are much more expensive to manufacture than the old style traditional fuel cans. Q: Once you are done with pouring gas, where should we put that yellow nozzle? if we don't put that reverse, gas might leak. If we do, nozzle gets dirty.
