Daughter Loves It

A Perfect Ride for Young Adventurers! My daughter absolutely loves her new Supercycle Momentum Youth DS Mountain Bike! From the moment she hopped on, it was clear this bike was designed with kids in mind—sturdy, smooth, and so much fun to ride. The 5-speed grip shifter is easy for her to use, giving her confidence as she tackles different terrains, whether it’s our neighborhood trails or the local park. The lightweight frame makes it simple for her to handle, and the durable tires grip the ground perfectly, even on bumpy paths. What really stands out is the comfort and safety—the padded seat and responsive brakes give me peace of mind while she’s out exploring. Plus, the sleek design and vibrant colors make it a bike she’s proud to show off to her friends. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-quality mountain bike for your child, the Supercycle Momentum Youth DS is a fantastic choice. It’s built to last, easy to ride, and—most importantly—brings a huge smile to my daughter’s face every time she takes it out. Highly recommend!

Canadian Tire - poor customer support - Bicycle Distributor - excellent service over and above

Our almost 7 year old grandson bought this bike with his birthday money, money earned, and allowance in Grande Prairie AB and we took it home to Ft Liard NT. A few days later we tried it out and we found out that the pedals _____ was bent! I called Canadian Tire twice and told someone would get back to us - no response. I called a third time and finally got someone to talk to that told me that regardless that the bike should have been in good shape that this sometimes happens and that we should bring it back to get warranty work done on it. Needless to say a 16 hour round trip drive to take the bike in was not in our near future. I was told there was nothing they could do other than we bring the bike bake the next time we were in Grande Prairie! I was not happy and they were unable to send us a part to repair it either! We got the Distributors email address and I went that route. Supervosor at Cdn Tire said we would likely have to pay for the part to repair it ourselves! Cdn Tire no help or sympathy at all! The Distributor on the other hand we more than helpful and diligent in recitfying Cdn Tire's problem! He sent out a part for it two days later. Kudos to the Distributor whose name I will not use as I do not have permission. One more strike against another Cdn Tire store - second one in my life time. Pretty sad for them to treat a child that way! By the way - the bike is a nice bike - our grandson loves the colour - Bippy colour!

Good

Good bike. Seems sturdy and my kid loves it. A bit on the high price since there are similar bikes for less, but good nevertheless. Hopefully it will not show any problem. What I did not like was the fact that CT sells their bikes at final sale, and made me a bit concerned about possible issues, as the associate didn't seem very sure about what warranty covers.

Questions

1 - 2 of 2 Questions

Q: Manual talks about left and right hand shifters. This bike only has one on the right hand side. Is the manual wrong?

2 Answers
  • A: Yes, it is wrong. The bike has only one shifter. Two would be a bit excessive for a kid’s bike.

Q: Are the handle bars adjustable ?

1 Answer
  • A: Yes, the stem that connects to the handlebars is height adjustable on this bike. Keep in mind the minimum insertion line must remain inside the frame when adjusting.
