    Bear spray

    I haven’t seen a bear yet but I’m so glad this came with an inert canister. I now have a lived experience on how to deploy the real canister…if that time ever occurs.

    Make sure to check expiration dates!

    Just be careful of expiration dates. I bought this and a few days later realized they expire in only 18 mos (Jan 2027). This product when sold without the practice bottle advertises 3 yr expiry dates so it's already half way to expiring and of course no returns on bear spray. Disappointed.

    It is a good size, easy to carry. The canister is easy to operate with one hand, including flipping out the safety tab. The tab has a hole in it so you can attach a lanyard or piece of string to ensure it stays with the canister. I consider the bear spray like an 'insurance policy', I hope to never use it.
