Disappointing

This product is no better than cheap paint with sand in it. Defininitely needs 2 coats and the roller that is recommended but even at that doesn't at all look like the picture or what we expected. Might as well of saved our $120. (large pail) and gone with latex paint.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Benefits of sealer for Rustoleum Stoneffects used indoors? Just put 2 thin coats of the roll-on onto my kitchen floor. Looks great; a little scratchy in bare feet. Do I need sealer indoors? Will it reduce the scratchiness of the surface? What about using urethane?

A: The Stoneffects sealer is required for both interior, and exterior applications. Two coats of sealer will smooth out the surface, and also make it easier to clean, and maintain. While Stoneffects may be compatible with other sealers, or urethanes, the application is only guaranteed when the Stoneffects Step 3 sealer is used.

Q: Are the roll on and trowel on versions of Stoneffects interchangable? I used the trowel on version in the past, but it is difficult to obtain locally

A: We have brochures, and display boards that feature available colors, but the colors are not available online. Please find a scanned copy of the brochure below. Canadian Tire stores can request brochures and display boards from Rust-Oleum's Customer Service Department.

Q: Will stone effects stick to ashphalt? We have a concrete driveway that has been covered with an asphalt sealant that is flaking off in some places but impossible to get off in other places. Will stone effects work?

A: Stoneffects works best on porous surfaces like concrete and is not recommended for application to tiles.

Q: How do you use the Rust-Oleum In the CT flyer it says to use with primer and sealant but in the manufactures brochure it says it is a self-priming product and is a two step installation. Which is correct?

A: The Rust-Oleum is self-priming. The Step 1 Primer can be used, but is not necessary. The Step 3 sealer is mandatory, as it will protect the coating from weather, and the elements.

Q: can the stoneffects product be used on cement board I am building an outdoor bbq bar and am considering using this product on the base of the bar. How durable and easy to use is this product

A: Yes, Stoneffects Rollable can be applied to cement board. It is very durable when applied to a sound surface. Note that the Step 3 sealer is required over Stoneffects Rollable to protect the surface from the elements.
