These rubbermaid totes are great except for the lids which don't stay on great and often crack. It would be better if they were stiffer and flush so they could be stacked easier.

A: Not 100% sealable, but if "critters" want to get in to a container they will get in, unless it is solid metal.

A: I would think it would be ok if you aren’t going into it in the winter. But I think if you tried opening it when it’s frozen it would crack.

A: The bins are huge for that purpose. Most mice would not be able to bite the corners and these lids snap-on.

A: The Rubbermaid Jumbo Tote is 42" long on the top outside measurement. It is also tapered so the 6 foot tree will be too big to store.

Q: am curious as to the inner measurements length wise as I have plant stakes that measure about 39" and would like to use bins on my balcony to store plant related stuff in. Also, do they look as though they would be Squirrel proof..? LOL
