Q: The description says to use it with Part 1. Has anyone tried growing lettuce without using the Part 1 bottle of nutrients? Why are both Parts 1 & 2 recommended?

A: Part 1 and 2 are needed to get all the correct nutrient solution needed for your plants. Add the nutrients one at a time to the water. Do not mix the nutrients together then add water! Nutrients will precipitate out and not mix with water.
