this ring doorbell is my favorite. It is the best privacy device we have and you can also hear the audio very great. It was easy to get set up and it’s also very easy to get connected.

With this device you can see how’s at the door and you can also hear what they are saying. I’ve had mine for 3 years and it was never broken. I feel super secure accessing it from my phone.

Just recently bought my first ring camera & im highly impressed. i did have to buy an additional mount on online because i live in an apt & cant drill holes into the exterior but the camera itself was easy to set up the app is really straight forward. I got the newer model that charges so no additional batteries are needed. so far the battery life seems pretty decent and the camera quality is really nice as well!

The installation of this ring doorbell was very easy to install. The durability of this product is great. I love that I get notifications at my own pace. I think the only downside of this is it is connected with my Wi-Fi and if my Wi-Fi goes down, then I lose function to my doorbell, but other than that, it’s a perfect product.

Q: Can someone clarify if this HAS to be hardwired or can it just be battery operated for both the camera & ring function?  On ring.com it states the version “2” is battery hookup, here the description states hardwired. Thank you.

  • A: The Ring Video Doorbell 2 has a quick-release battery pack that can be charged via micro-usb to a wall adapter. If the customer/neighbor does happen to have an existing doorbell, with the wiring intact and working (8-24VAC output), then they can hardwire the Ring Video Doorbell s to provide a trickle charge to the battery pack. This way they do not ever have to remove the battery to charge it. If they do have the Ring Video Doorbell 2 hardwired they also get the benefit of having their existing doorbell chime activate when Ring's doorbell button is pressed.
