Q: Is this considered a Lockbox? Is it fastened to the outside of the door? does it hold a key for entry?

A: No, this is not considered a lockbox. This is a deadbolt latch to add to your door for extra security. We do sell lock boxes by Master Lock found here: https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/master-lock-set-your-own-combination-push-button-lock-box-portable-0461299p.html#srp
