Great little heater so far

Originally went with a 240 heater then cost of hydro went crazy and the 240 heater thankfully broke so I replaced it with this gem not exactly the same a bit more inconvenient to run cause you have to vent the door so you don’t die but it definitely gets way hotter way faster

Yes, I recommend this product.

Propane leaks

This heater is dangerous. Propane fumes within 10 mins of running it. I changed to full propane tank, I tried running on low and high, it didn’t seem to matter. I took it back. Very dangerous, and should be recalled.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Works good even in -30 weather.

Works good even in -30 weather. Using it in a garage shelter to warm up my quad that I plow with. Turn it on for a 1/2 hour or so and it defrosts the tent and even melt some snow that gets left on the quad. Works way better than my little tank mount heater. Lite enough to move around easy as well.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Is it noisy? Can u talk with people when it is running?

  • A: Yes it is quite noisy.  But it does heat up an area very quickly. I let it run for a few minutes to warm up the garage & then turn it off. Repeat when it cools down. It made it possible to do wood crafts over the winter.

Q: Can you run it in a garage without it being vented?

2 Answers
  • A: I wouldn’t. You need the fresh air to vent the fumes so you don’t get carbon monoxide poisoning. If you have a drafty old garage you might get away with very little additional venting. I just leave my garage door cracked open a bit. Also maybe just step outside for a few every hour or so to make sure you get clean air.

Q: any problem hooking it up to a 100 pound tank?

2 Answers
  • A: As long as the connection is the same as a 20 lb. tank there will be no problem. The connection uses the interior threads and can be tightened with a wrench.

Q: i realize that this a floor unit but is there any reason why I cannot mount it to the ceiling of my garage ( upside down ). will it still function properly? Is that against code?

2 Answers
  • A: This unit is not meant for indoor use, as it will rob the available air and replace it with CO2 (deadly). Being upside down would not change the way it works, but again it is not intended for interior use. In addition to the CO2 issue it would represent an extreme for hazard. Last, but not least, such an installation would be against code (fire for sure, probably building as well, and definately gas appliance regulations)

Q: Is this heater safe to use in an enclosed space? ie Doesn't it emit CO2 as a byproduct of the combustion process?

2 Answers
  • A: ALWAYS provide a fresh air opening in the heated space of at least three square feet (2,800 sq. cm) for each 100,000 BTU / Hr. of heater output. Provide a larger opening if more heaters are being used. For further inquiries, please call 1-800-641-6996

Q: Does it have it's own gas tank? It says it uses gas and comes with a regulator and hose. Could you simply put the one end of the hose in a common 5 gallon gas container? Or are we talking about it using Propane? ( hence the regulator? )
