Standing 20" (51 cm) high, it accommodates thick mattresses and extends 43" (109 cm) for enhanced security. Q: Can this be used on a twin bed with no box spring?

A: Yes, the straps that hold it in place underneath the mattress don’t need a box spring in between as the plastic anchors will keep it in place in the opposite side of the mattress. It is most secure if the bed frame has a bit of a lip to keep it in place, but can work fine with an open bed frame.

A: It all depends if you have a mattress that you can pull out and have the strapps going all the way under and a hard surface so the the legs don t fall in an empty space underneath. It works ok on a boxed bed.
