AMAZING HIGH DEFINITION 4K PICTURE

We bought this on Boxing Day with a big discount. We wanted to test the difference between 1080p and 4K resolutions. When we first tested it with a blu ray movie, it just blew our mind. We compared the 1080p picture quality with one one of the most famous TV brands. There simply is no comparison. For budget conscious people, RCA 4K TV IS THE WAY TO GO. Once you've seen it, there's no turning back. Even at this regular price, this is a GREAT BUY. Everything else works: the remote, connections, and very easy to set up. If you could wait a little longer, buy the 4K model with smart functionality (wi-fi compatible).

Listen, I have to agree. I don't understand why there are so many negative comments online, especially from people who haven't bought it, but decide to critique for the brand name. This is the same price as an average 42" LED, and you get 4 times the quality. You have 3 HDMI ports, one of which is 2.0 HDCP 2.2, meaning you can fork out the big bucks on the Samsung 4K UHD Bluray player, or a cheaper 4K UHD Bluray upscaler with WiFi and make it a smart entertainment system. Just don't forget to make sure that your HDMI 2.0 cable is high speed, and you'll be getting crystal clear, vibrant images. Even with just a HDMI 1.4 in 1080, I was flabbergasted at the upscaled improvement. As long as you don't have the set more than 10 feet way, (it is only a 42" after all) you'll be mesmerized by the quality for the price you pay.

great tv amazing picture quality! tested tv with 4k videos on youtube, and this tv is the real deal! avoid the negative reviews! this tv is just as good as the 1500 dollar 4k tv at the big box stores! now keeping in mind the only thing your losing out on, is all the extra audio and video inputs that come some of the other brand tv's. also the menu's arent as nice as other brand tv's. all and all, im completely satisfied. I have another 1080 p tv in my house, and it is no where clear as this rca 4k. a great buy!

Everything is good but only one thing need to be improve is has to work videos and music files when you attach USB. I mean when you attach pendrive or any usb conncetion with usb port I can see only photos and that thing has to improve in this TV otherwise it is excellent.

A: The video on my RCA 42" 4K died 1 year and eight days after I purchased it. (Therefore, no CT warranty coverage.) So my answer is yes, it has a higher probability of not working after a few years.

Q: Why can't HDMI 2.0 get 4K @ 60HZ? I connected a HDMI 2.0 cable from my Intel NUC i3 6100U computer to this TV, but it could not get 4K @ 60HZ. I reconnected using a mini DP to HDMI, it is only showing 1080. How could I get 4K @ 60HZ on this TV?

A: Your DP to HDMI adapter needs to be specifically for HDMI 2.0 60Hz. There is one by Club3D made for this scenario.

Q: What version of HDCP does this TV use? HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0a are required to make use of the full 4k UHD standard.

A: Yes it is. It has a few apps pre-installed like weather, youtube and netflix. Personally, I wouldn't base your buying decision on this feature though. As with most (if not all) smart TVs, the built-in "smart" features are pretty worthless when compared to aftermarket solutions. Spend $50 - $150 and get yourself an Android, Intel or Chromecast HDMI dongle.
