Sturdy!

Overall this bike rack is sturdy and worked well for our 4000km family trip, hitched on the back of our fifth wheel. It held firmly but did scratch our bikes, which isn’t overly concerning for us (cheap youth bikes), though it is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

Great Value. Sturdy 4-bike carrier. Can be split in half for 2. Easy to load bikes on, and secure them even has a Hitch lock.

A: Yes it does. It's a great locking system. Once you secure the bike on the carrier, you can lock each bike with the key provided. I also add my own bike locks and secure my bike locks to the car hitch for additional protection.

A: Yes. The wheels strap down and then a sliding catch secures the frame into position.

Q: Can this unit be used behind a trailer, will it stay secure with the extra bouncing of a trailer?

A: It’s not a great idea. There will be a lot of bouncing which will be amplified by the trailer. Eventually something will break on it especially with the weight of you are carrying 4 bikes.
