New Rainfresh Seal Works as Intended

I installed Rainfresh filters in 2010 and this is the first time I've had to replace a seal after changing the filter media. The new seal came with a small pouch of silicone. Removed old seal, cleaned the groove, applied silicone, installed the new seal and then the filter housing. No leaks.
IMO Rainfresh makes good products and filter media prices are a fraction of other brands.

Didn't Work

My new filter unit was leaking past the original gasket. I installed the new gasket exactly as instructed but it didn't make any difference.
Thankfully Canadian Tire refunded my purchase of the new gasket and the Rainfresh filter unit.

Q: #62-1021-6 is this a squarish ring it is for a rainfresh water filter replacement seal. The one I'm looking for is not an "o" ring. It is had to see on the picture on your site.

A: Yes, this ring is squarish. With a groove on one side. Just installed one in an undersink housing.
