The Rainfresh 1M Ceramic Replacement Cartridge ensures your drinking water is purified and safe. It filters out harmful particles like coliform bacteria and parasites, providing you with fresh-tasting water. The unique diatomaceous earth and silver impregnation reduce the need for boiling, and the cartridge lasts for about 100 uses to help reduce costs and waste. The cartridge is also cleanable for easy maintenance.

Q: Well water usage. Any one know how the cartridge stands up to well water that is acid PH. Does the acid water effect performace in any way? Damage the cartridge?

A: Low pH (below 7/acidic) has NO effect on the performance OR the durability of any of our water filters. On the other hand, drinking water standards require the pH of the water to be between 6.5 and 8.5. (Please note that RO ystems (62-1010) tend to lower the pH of the water, so while the RO performance will not be affected at low pH, it is a good idea to check if the pH of the resultant RO water (product water) is still within the 6.5 and 8.5 range.)

Q: Is the total life of the filter 12months, or does the claim that is cleanable and reuseable mean it's total life can be extended by periodic cleanings If the product is cleanable and reusable how many times can it be reused before replacement is necessary?

A: Regarding 62-1002 (1M) Cartridge Life Rated life: 12 Months (approximate) or 1,000 US Gallons/3,785 liters. For optimum performance, replace cartridge every 12 months – of usage. Cartridge life is directly related to specific water conditions of water filtered, volume of water filtered and frequency of cleaning. Frequent cleaning ensures best efficiency (e.g. flow rate), but does not change performance claims. All 62-1002 include a measuring gauge to measure the OD of the cartridge. With each cleaning the OD decreases and when the OD is less than what the gauge measures, it is recommended to replace the cartridge. In very dirty water conditions, this could be before 12 months of usage.
