A Good Temporary Solution

These are my pros. It's light -- easy to carry home and store before use. It absorbs water and inflates, as it gets soaked by the rain. It's an inexpensive, quick, take-home solution. These are my cons. It allows some water to pass underneath the barrior if it's not laying on a perfectly flat surface (heavier sand may do a better job?). It takes some time to inflate, so it won't be available as a barrior right away. It crushes if run over by a car tire; the gel inside oozes out (the rest of the barrior remains intact and inflated though). It only lasts up to six months. My thoughts: I think the gel inside is the same liquid-absorbing gel that is inside diapers. It's translucent and non-toxic. I picked up the gel that oozed out with my hand and I didn't have any reaction at all with my sensitive skin.

So far, they have not been tested in a flood situation. Good packaging, fold out nicely, laid in place, sprayed with water to inflate them, then laid sand bags over top to hold them in place, as potential flooding is tidal.

I bought three of these. I place two of them and soaked them with water to activate the gel, just before it started to rain. The first one seems to have worked to some degree, although not full. The other remained flat. Even after the rain. Water still got through. The third is still in its original bag. VERY disappointed. These are pricey and should work without issues. I don't recommend.

Q: Can this be bent, or does it have to be straight for the whole length?

A: Yes it can be while it is still dry. You can customize the the way you wanted it to fit but do not cut it. Just bend around fold after u take out from the packaging

Q: Can you use this in winter ? My garage driveway slope have water leaking into the garage . Can I leave it outside for the whole winter? Any problem ?

A: Quick Dam Flood Bags & Barriers can be used during the winter months. It is important that they are fully activated before freezing temperatures arrive. While frozen the Bags & Barriers will perform as normal and when they thaw, they will continue to do so. It is also recommended to not move them when they are frozen as the fabric may tear when it is frozen to the ground. If you plan to move them, we suggest placing plastic underneath them to prevent them from sticking to the surface. If salt is expected, then covering the Bags & Barriers in a plastic film to avoid contact is recommended, as the salt will start to break them down making them less effective.
