It is as smooth as any other reel out there and it preforms perfectly all the time and is the best value I have found in a long time and is well worth twice the money.

Decent Reel

Bought this reel and the Pfluger president spinning reel at the beginning of the 2014 fishing season and it served me well! Caught at least 100 fish (mostly Pickerel and Smallmouth bass), and it never gave me any issues, although it does sometimes make a little noise when reeling in sometimes. (maybe the bearings) Nothing that seems to affect it though, and I plan on catching lots more fish with it next summer as well!

So Far So Good

Well its like the title says, i have had this reel for about 2 months now, i have had no problems as of yet and it gets used about 3-4 times a week, this is actually my 3rd reel this summer, i had bought a different model (cheaper) Quantam and a Shimano reel earlier in the summer and both were defective. so i can't say this reel is bullet proof but i can say that it is not junk. -happy fishing
