Q: How many charge/discharge cycles are these batteries capable of?
3 years agoA: There are many variables that effect cycle life of any lead acid battery - depth of discharge, rate of discharge, charging regimen, charging equipment used, general care and maintenance, just to name a few. What you may see stated as cycle life by some brands are “ideal laboratory conditions” and, frankly, aren't even comparable because, for example, how one brand defines end of life may be different than how another brand defines it (e.g. Brand X considers end of life when the battery can only deliver 50% of it's original capacity while Brand Y considers end of life when a battery can only deliver 70% of it's original capacity. Of course, Brand X will be able to claim a higher cycle life number.") As we do not wish to set false or unreasonable expectations, we do not publish cycle life estimates. Generally speaking, a flooded lead-acid deep cycle battery, if not abused and with proper care and maintenance, will provide several hundred discharge/recharge cycles. The shallower the discharges, exponentially more cycles. The deeper the discharges, exponentially fewer cycles.
