Clumping on 3 cans!

Despite getting freshly shaken by their machine, all 3 (yes, THREE) cans of primer were clumping so bad that I was only able to use 3/4 of the contents. If I was not desperate to finish my project, i would have returned these.

Haven't used it yet because painting the bathroom is a "winter season job".

Old primer?

Bought last week. Took a long time to mix up the ‘thick sludge’ from the bottom of the can. Primer is very thin so will need to do coats to cover the wallpaper. Hoping it does the job as it wasn’t very cheap

Questions

1 - 2 of 2 Questions

Q: is this primer a pure white or an off white? The can I bought last year was a bright white while the one I bought recently had a off white colour too it.

1 Answer
  • A: Colour appearance will change slightly due to batch variations, possibly age. Will not affect product application as this is a primer only which requires a top coat of paint

Q: Purchased this paint last year. I was eventually able to successfully mix it but it has the consistency of milk. It's so thin that I can't imagine applying it with a roller. Having never used this brand , is it normal for it to be so watery?

1 Answer
  • A: Good day Crisbris, oil-based paint does have a thinner consistency than water-based. That being said, since the paint was purchased last year and did settle; we recommend bringing the paint to the store where it was purchased and having it thoroughly shaken. If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact us at our toll free number 1.866.PAINT99 or visit your local Canadian Tire at the paint counter for further assistance.
