Uneven coverage

I bought this paint in base 3 color espresso. I have now applied 3 coats and cannot get an even colour surface. I followed all directions for application. When I purchased the paint, the store was having difficulties with the machine for tinting so I don’t know if that created the problem. Very disappointed with the time and work wasted.
