A good purchase

I used this tool in 1 5/8 diameter to replace the rear brake pads on my 2005 Mustang. It worked well after I freed the piston to rotate using some slip joint pliers. Be careful not to damage the rubber seal .I used a long 3/8 extension to push the tool against the piston and rotate it at the same time. The instructions are vague but I figured it out. The caliper must be solidly supported and a ratchet handle on the extension helps to turn the tool and piston.

Q: Will this work on 2012 dodge grand caravan rear brakes?

A: The 2012 Dodge Caravan calipers can be compressed straight back. There is no need for a tool like the 940407 brake caliper tool. This tool is used on calipers that need to be spun or screwed back.

Q: Powerbuilt 1-1/2-in. Rear Brake Disc Caliper Tool I am going change rear brake pad for 2007 pontiac grand pirx. Is this tool I need to push piston back?

A: The 25-1113 is for vehicles without an automatically adjusting parking brake mechanism as part of the disc brake calliper. It is for use on two or four piston callipers. For single piston use Canadian Tire product #25-6256.
