Great saw with a few tweaks!

I bought this saw about a month ago and so far I have cut a cord of wood with it and I've also done a lot of brush clearing around my property. Fresh out of the box it had a slight bog and required an adjustment on the high side of the carburetor. This only took about a minute to do. It does require a special tool but luckily I've dealt with chainsaws for years and i'm well equipped. After that it ran great! I highly recommend ignoring the instructions which say to run your gas and 2 stroke oil mixture at 50:1 and rather run them at 40:1. The 50:1 mixture is simply due to new emission laws. All saws prior to these laws ran at 40:1 and its the best mixture for all chainsaws. I also highly recommend using only Husqvarna 2-cycle synthetic blend 2 stroke oil in your gas, don't cheap out or it could ruin your saw. These saws are also known for an issue with their spark plugs new out of the box. If your saw will not start remove the spark plug and regap it to .30. The look and feel of the chainsaw is pretty nice although you can see the lower quality in the plastic parts. When removing the bar from the saw you have to be careful refitting the nuts back onto the studs because they can easily cross thread. Do not tighten them to much as well as you risk pulling the studs right out of the saw! These chainsaws are great for the regular home owner and if well taken care of will last 3-5 years easily. If you are storing the chainsaw for long periods of time be sure to start it at least twice a month even if you have no plans to use it. Buyers should have a basic mechanical skill with chainsaws to get them tuned right though. Over all I am very happy with this purchase and I would buy another one!

Do NOT buy!

I bought this 8 months ago and had the same problem as all the other reviewers. It won’t stay running. I tried to get it fixed, they’re saying it needs a new carb and because it’s fuel related, they won’t honour the warranty. It will cost $100 for the new carb plus labour. Ridiculous. I mixed the fuel myself and it was bang on. Why is everyone having the same problem?

My first chainsaw

This is the first chainsaw I bought. I have read many reviews and not sure If I have made a mistake in buying one. I bougbt it 3 days ago, And I decided to give it a try today. Unlike a lot of review said. It is very easy to start (cold). It cut like a charm and I fell the big tree in less than 8 minutes. Chopping up the tree limbs and trunks took me 4 hours. I went through 3 bottles of fuel (@ fill 3.5 times). At end of job, it never quit on me. For this price, I highly recommend this.

Really good saw!

Like an earlier review, I also don’t believe all the one star reviews. I’m hard on equipment, but I also understand the temperament of 2 strokes. Now, this in my opinion is one of the best saws before you hit industry grade saws, look at price. You really need to determine your ability and needs when buying a saw, going cheap here will not help you, neither will underestimating your needs. Oh yeah started right out of box on 4 pulls, and every time after.
