    Continental Blower

First one I got started squealing after 2 weeks. Did an exchange. Second one is better but only works up to speed 6 on the fan setting. Speed 7 doesn’t work. I have 7 settings for the blower fan. The resistor is built in.

Q: 2003 Chev S-10 Blazer - no air hot or cold I blower was running on all speeds (air and heat) before I shut the vehicle off. When I started suv a few minutes later there was no air blowing at all. is it the blower motor or resistor?

    • A: The dial selector has a small metal contact that moves over another plate. The high setting has no use of the Motor resistor, so that part is out of the loop and direct full current. If Dial selector is gummed up with corrosion it will fail or be intermittent. Service techs are great for replacing parts not diagnosing the issue and solving problems. @ 125 to150 per hour do it yourself. If the fuse is not blown and the relay is good there is no power, as in 12.6 volts on one of the pins to ground the chassis, then it's the motor. Take a positive wire and touch the power pin on the motor, it should spin up full speed. If not the motor is done.
