Q: Will this clear an old iron pipe drain in my basement?

A: I have not tried it on iron pipe drains. They are normally 4" or more. They require a motorized snake. I have used it successfully on 2" pvc.

A: Good afternoon JennVK and thank you for your question. It is not recommended to be used in a toilet, the wire cable will mark the porcelain finish in the toilet. You need to use the toilet auger PS2419. It has a rubber covering on the end that lays in the toilet so no marking will happen. Best Regards
