A: We can confirm the stain is not toxic however we still would not recommend you let your dog chew on it if possible.

Q: I am thinking of buying this and insulating to make a new dog house …would it be okay to seal the holes/vents if it’s for a dog not children ?

A: Well I am not an expert in dog houses and need for ventilation. I am assuming it is an all year round thing with it a door or so sort of modified door. You could also plug them with a round wood plug. I would think it would really cool it off in the summer when used for shade so the plugs could be removed in the hot months? As this is the health and safety of your pet. You’re on your own. It’s a big house for a dog

Q: Does this playhouse have open windows or is there some sort of plastic covering over windows?

A: The windows have plexi glass but there is venting under the eaves and the door is open so it has air flow. However we store cushions in summer and winter when not in use and they remain dry. Also the child’s wood play kitchen stays dry as well.

A: Hello, as noted there are only windows in the front of the Plum Wooden Playhouse however it is not too dark inside and the door can be left open too for more light.

Q: Is the Teal paint color oil based or latex? I wanted to paint it, for extra protection. Against the elements, I was going to use a exterior latex paint.

A: It’s aoil based stain. It weathered through a snowy winter and I don’t think it needs any extra protection Everything stored inside was as dry as a bone. If I was going to seal anything I would put a silicone bead on the roof but we haven’t required it.

Q: Is the house water proof on the roof so that during summer rains my children could keep toys and pillows inside without them getting soaked. Would you recommend sealing the roof seems with silicone?

A: The Plum Wooden Playhouse is water resistant. For light showers the inside would stay dry however there are ventilation holes in the side so if the rain was heavy or driving sideways the interior could get wet. We would not recommend sealing the roof with silicone as ventilation is important.
