Ball Leak-proof Lids

Package doesn't indicate "not for preserving".You have to open up the box to find this information, then you can't return them. They are located with the canning supplies which is misleading.

I make roughly 30 jars of tomato sauce at the end of summer every year. Once I have used up each jar of tomato sauce, rather than storing the jars for later, I use them to store nuts, lentils, seeds, etc. in my pantry. These lids are fabulous for this kind of storage. In fact, they are indispensable! My only complaint would be how difficult it is to find these Bernardin plastic lids at most Canadian Tire stores and elsewhere around Montreal.

Q: do these have a rubber seal or do they seal? Im looking at putting sauerkraut into jars and using these lids

A: These are not leak proof however we suggest using 142-4976 reg mouth or 142-4977 for wide mouth lids as they are leak proof.
